Hello fellow Detectives,
Iam trying to locate a birth and baptism entry for Mary Blythe daughter of William and Elizabeth Blythe née ? Of Broadwidwiger or Kelacott Devon born around 1818. Mary went on to Marry John Ward in 1837 in the parish of Stowford.  I've completed the Ward family tree but having difficulty in tracing back the Blythe side. Their is a Bapt entry of 27 Dec 1818 of Kelacott for a Mary Blight but I haven't been able to sight the source on ancestry to confirm her parents names and mothers maiden name. Welcome your help
Cheers

If you haven't found a baptismal entry - what is your source for her parents names?

Not much to go on, but the following Broadwoodwidger Register entries might help:

William Blithe, baptism 16/6/1822, s/o William/Elizabeth, husbandsman (possible brother to Mary, as same parents name & occupation)

William Blithe, baptism, 15/8/1790, s/o William & Agnes
William Blithe, burial, 25/5/1791, s/o William & Agnes

William Blithe, baptism, 18/11/1792, s/o William & Agnes

William Blithe, burial 1856, aged 72 of Kellacott

Thank you I wasn't sure where I got the Bapt of Mary Blithe, but confirms parents, I didn't have William and Agnes parents of William so that added something new. You don't happen to have any marriage details for Broadwoodwiger or Kelacott ? To check entry for William and Agnes thanks

Nothing showing up in the area, the closest being St Germans Cornwall, 24/9/1775, William Blight/Agnes Widelake. It is the next county but some distance (c 30 miles) from Broadwoodwidger in the Deanery of Tavistock

There are some Broadwoodwidger marriages, which may well be close family:
26/6/1796   Agnes Blight & John Mills
13/1/1779   Thomas Blight & Agnes Corey - possibly their children below.

There are several Broadwoodwidger infant burials to parents Thomas & Agnes Blithe:
Mary Ann 15/5/1787,  Anne 27/7/1787,  Ann 4/6/1789,  James 1/4/1788,  Thomas 31/1/1796

There is an 1841 Stowford census for
William Blithe (50-4), Elizabeth (45-9), William (15-19), Maria 9 & John 7. - but I can't find a suitable marriage for William & Elizabeth.

Devon Family History Society may have some parish register transcripts and parish maps - worth a look on their website.
