Dear all,Walter Gundy married Betty Davis on 6 oct 1788 in Whitchurch.I am trying to find the parents of Walter and Betty.I have found two possible Walter Gundys..1)Walter born 1754 Ross(parents Walter and Sarah)  ..2)walter b.~1759 died 1826 Llangarren.I have found the birth of a Betty Davis on 20/may/1764 with parents John Davies and Elizabeth.I am directly descended from Walter and Betty.Walter and Betty's children were 1)John Gundy b.~1788(my gggggrandfather)..2)Walter Gundy b.1791 Llangarren (married Sarah Clayton)..3)Thomas Gundy(b.~1793(Llangarren) who married Mary Lewis..4)Sarah Gundy b.1797 who married Benjamin Hunt(b.1793..5)Joseph Gundy b.1801..6)Henry Gundy b.1805 who married Jane Williams..7)Elizabeth Gundy b.~1807..8)Esther Gundy who married Thomas Galder.All of these Gundy's were born in and around Llangarren(Llangarron),Whitchurch,and Tretire.Any help much appreciated..ivorglyn

Hi Ivor,

I have read your post & have had to 'google' every town name to find out where they were.

I think if you are more precise with counties added it helps researchers.

Not all good researchers know the names of towns within counties but it does save them a lot of time if they don't have to use google initially!

I initially thought place names you have looked welsh

It would also help if you could put spaces between words/sentences, names/dates in list format & paragraphs to make it easier to follow, e.g.....

Walter and Betty's children were;

1) John Gundy b.~1788 (my gggggrandfather)..
2) Walter Gundy b.1791 Llangarren (married Sarah Clayton)..
3) Thomas Gundy (b.~1793 (Llangarren) who married Mary Lewis..

All of these Gundy's were born in and around Llangarren (Llangarron), Hereford, Whitchurch, Shropshire and Tretire, Hereford

Have you tried to find the Walter bn 1754 Ross after his baptism

There are two burials in Llangarron, Herefordshire, presumably they are 'your' couple
9 April 1837 Elizabeth Gundy age 78 (bn c1759)
3 October 1826 Walter Gundy age 67 (bn c1759)

Dear Rosie,Sorry I have now  found both records.Sometimes I have found that if you enter a county no results come up but they do if you don't enter a county!!I found the birth record for an Elizabeth Davis on 20/may/1764 in Llangarron with parents John Davies and Elizabeth.On some of Elizabeth's childrens birth records she calls herself Betty..Again many thanks for your time..kind regards ivorglyn

Dear all,After searching Forest of Dean records and familysearch we believe the likely parents of Walter b.~1759 are Walter Gundy and Sarah Pratt who married on 30/nov/1849 in Ross,Herefordshire.
