Hi rathmore. thanks' I have the 1901 and 1911cen: and the birth and marriage, the father on birth is James and on Marriage is Robert. I am trying to get my head around the place names, eg Galladoo is it a town or village or an area known as. I see it's a few miles from Moville. the map shows no houses. I'll have to find a old map! thank you for your help, I will keep looking. Bruce.

the donegal resources address I gave you

http://www.donegalgenealogy.com

come down the page and click on Movile Lower, then come down the page and click on Griffiths Valuation Index 1857, a Robert Morrison listed at GULLADOO (you have it at Galladoo) it will be a town land usually flax seed growers for the linen industry.

Hi Rathmore. Thanks, we move on. Roberts father turns out to be Robert as on the marriage record, James may well be g/father?  birth record of Robert 1849 list James as father? ok more work needed.
I found Gullandoo land area and a map of up to date land plots. (from Donegal council) Thank you for your help, a few years ago I cam across records of a church cross roads, as of yet I haven't be able to link them in with Robert. I have the family from Robert up to myself. I would be happy to pass this on to any one. all the best Bruce.

Bruce.
How did you arrive at the deaths of Robert and Sarah Jane?

Have you looked at this site?
irish genealogy.ie

Inishowen, Moville

Looking at your OP you state Robert C1849-1920
Robert died in 1912 aged 68yrs. Death registered by son Daniel.

Also his wife, Sarah Jane Gibson 1851-1921.
I cannot locate a 1921 death for Robert's wife

There was a widow named Sarah Morrison who died in 1921 but she was not Robert's widow.
She lived at Greencastle, Donegal ( also Inishowen district) where she can be located at 1911.

It is time consuming but I would suggest that you look at all Morrison births registered in the Inishowen area using irishgenealogy.ie

I had a quick look and can see that the children born to Robert and Sarah Jane show the address as: Gulladuff.

Another Morrison couple were living at Gulladuff and also having children in the same time period.
They were called JAMES Morrison and Sarah McLaughlin but I have no idea if they are related.

Lastly.
Did you look at any other family living in the Gulladoo at 1901?
The Morrisons were Methodists and so were the Gibson family at house No4.

The parents in this household look as if they could be Sarah Jane's parents

Gibson   Robert   80   Male   Head of Family   Methodist
Gibson   Jane   82   Female   Wife   Methodist
