Tasmania: William LICKFOLD, born Middlesex c1828
« on: Tuesday 30 May 17 10:09 BST (UK) »
Hello,

William LICKFOLD disembarked from the Rodney at Hobart on 28/11/1850 and was eventually granted his Certificate of Freedom on 06/07/1854, seemingly having been an exemplary convict.

I have not been able to retrieve any further information after 1854.   Can SKS help please ???

Thank you Jamjar,

I have his Convict Record..........but, sadly, AOT has no other documents for him.   The William LICHFORD you refer to arrived in the colony aboard the Clarence

An online family tree suggests that family came out to Victoria, that his full name was William Slipper Lickfold, and parents were James and Susannah (nee Strutt)

There is a baptism record for Jan 1832, St George in the East, Middlesex with these details (minus Strutt)

Old Bailey records show that the William Lickfold transported to VDL was also convicted a few months previously as William Slipper Lickfold, along with his brother James.

There is a death in Victoria for Susannah Lickfold (father James Strutt) in 1889 Vic. reg. 12013 that the tree suggests is the mother, so a dig around in the Victorian records may be fruitful

Susannah's death should give the names and ages of her children, and whether any are deceased.

Good Morning,

Thank you for your suggestions.

I have a fairly comprehensive profile of the family, and their criminal activities, but trying to retrieve specific information for William after his Certificate of Freedom is proving problematic, nay, impossible.   TROVE only offers details up to his freedom date and the PROV records have not proved helpful.

For the moment,
