Compiled from records held in the National Records of Scotland, the Scottish Genealogy Society has recently published: Maryculter Aberdeenshire Free Church Baptisms 1853-1895 & Marriages 1854-1884 (ref: CH3/225/10 & 12) with Banchory-Ternan Free Church Baptisms 1855-1886, Aberdeenshire (ref: CH3/1679/5/1) - both in one volume. Maryculter Baptism register starts in October 1853 and gives the name of child, parents’ names, occupation and residence. The marriage register starts in January 1854 and gives names of both parties, occupations, residence and the bride’s father is usually named. The Banchory-Ternan baptisms also give child’s name, date of birth, date of baptism, father & mother’s names, occupation and residence (price: £3.00 +p&p).
