Anyone know anything about Antrim Prison?
« on: Tuesday 30 May 17 22:13 BST (UK) »
I am researching a poor bloke who ended up in jail.
Wilson McKeown, Solicitor of Ballymena was sentenced to eight months in 1915. I'm wondering where he would likely have ended up and what it would have been like!?

Ballymena Gaol not Prison.
1910- The Courthouse was Ballymoney Street, etc.-

1918 directory similar-

From the earlier topic he wasn't listed as a solicitor until 1911 (apprentice solicitor in 1910) which seems a bit strange-

One newspaper report on a bankruptcy hearing describes Wilson as having been accompanied by an officer of H M Prison. I wonder if he was possibly detained in HMP Belfast (Crumlin Road Gaol).
