Deleting folder from desktop.
« on: Wednesday 31 May 17 08:30 BST (UK) »
I created a new folder on desktop a  for PDF file but couldn`t save the file to it, so stored it in another location.
Now I can`t open or delete the new Folder from  my Desktop. I have restarted the PC  to see if that would get rid  but it`s still there.
Windows 8.1 .

 Can anyone help.

It has gone.
It`s rather strange really because it didn`t show in the list of desktop items,  but when I tried to delete it again the icon faded.
Tried another restart  and it`s gone.  ???

Yes that sometimes happens, I usually find it when there is an update in the queue ready to be installed while computer in shutting down and booting up.

If it happens to me I know that something is waiting, so I sign out, then Shut Down.

When I boot up again the item is gone!

Good morning,

I have the opposite, an empty folder in my pictures file. Every time I delete it it reappears the next time I start the computor. What is worse is it won't let me store anything in it or rename it. It just sits there like big brother.

Have you tried renaming it? Then trying?
