Have been looking at the headstone inscriptions for those buried at Waverley.

Do you have them/want them? If so, I can type them up, next weekend.

P.S. I think your John Caldicott (Caldecott) died in an accident in 1873. He's buried at Balmain Cemetery. Can't find burial place of Thomas. His death is too early for the Balmain Index and he doesn't appear on headstones at Waverley.

Thank you all for helping to solve this mystery of how Thomas got to Australia and finding a whole lot more family along the way, just have to sort it all and add it to this families record.
I wonder if he ever got his unclaimed letter addressed to "Thomas COHEN Butcher"!

Jamjar, Thank you that would be very kind of you and always good to have in the records.
Sue, Sorry about that, will try to remember to do that in future, you are right, it does make it easier to follow.

Jamjar,
Thank you for the inscriptions, answered a couple of queries and added some second names that had only been initials until now.
Now that a lot of people are being cremated the wealth of family information that can be gathered from Headstones will soon be a thing of the past.
Cheers

Happy to be of assistance, Heather.

Yes, true. Some lawn cemetery plaques have useful information, but most not.
