Cullen's of Enniscorthy, Wexford, Ireland & subsequently Australia
« on: Saturday 03 June 17 09:32 BST (UK) »
Hello,

I would be very appreciative of any information that you maybe able to provide regarding a Mr. Timothy Cullen of Ennisorthy, Wexford, Ireland.

I've been able to retrieve a copy of an Australian marriage certificate for Timothy's son, Michael Cullen, who was married in Australia in 1892.

From this certificate I can see Timothy was married to a lady by the name of Mary Lee. Further research via '''Roots Ireland'' indicates this marriage took place on the 26 November 1857 in Enniscorthy, Wexford, Ireland. Also, a child born to this marriage in 1860 - Anastasia Cullen (in addition to Michael discussed above). The marriage certificate lists Timothy's occupation as a Farmer & Hotelkeeper.

So far, its been really tough finding anything much else on this family.

I'm keen to learn the names of Timothy's parents in addition to any other siblings he might of had. Also, whether their was anymore children from Timothy's marriage to Mary Lee and the timing of their move to Australia (if at all, as perhaps this trip was undertaken just by their son Michael).

Thank you for any help you may be able to provide.

Left hand page.

Enniscorthy parish records are quite good, even includes a parish census from April 1861 so a careful look through the registers may be well be worth while.

This could possibly be him. Looking at map it seems to be in the wider Enniscorthy area. Have another search using variant spellings too.

Thanks Clemmie.
Perhaps Anne/Annie Cullen could be a sister to Timothy Cullen?
