Sunninghill marriage
« on: Saturday 03 June 17 10:35 BST (UK) »
Hi

My Aunt Marie Alys May Tyrrell lived in Sunninghill and was, I believe, the daughter of William L Tyrrell and Alice Winstone who married in the third quarter of 1919. I think the father was actually William Leonard Tyrrell, son of William Alfred Tyrrell and Sabina Naomi Priest, but this need to be confirmed by the marriage register entry and/or marriage certificate.

Does anyone have any knowledge of this family?

Cheers

Mick Reed

Hi Mick,

There is tree on Anc..y with a 1911 census showing this family with the William Tyrell aged 15.

The parents are aged 43 & 40 with Sabina listing Wokingham as her place of birth.

William, the father, was a painter and the son  an errand boy and they have been married 16 years  suggesting a marriage around 1895. There is a marriage index for Sep ¼ 1894 Wokingham dist. for William Alfred Tyrell to Sabina Naomi Priest.

There are also some WW1 Army Service Records for a William Leonard Tyrell  listing  his next of kin as William Alfred Tyrell of Ascot, Berks - this seems to confirm your thoughts.

Hope this helps.
