The Johnson Bros are listed in Historical Directories as living at 342 Glossop Road from 1871 to 1889.

Have been looking for J H Barber  :)

I think he was rather a prominent figure in Sheffield (19th century) as there are numerous newspaper articles referring to J H Barber/James Henry Barber

That's the one as he was living at Broomhall Road in 1901.

James Henry Barber was appointed managing director of the Sheffield Banking Company on 1 January 1874.

Perhaps the photograph was taken then.

There's an online tree with the same photograph as the one posted above.
