The Jupp family of Croydon
« on: Sunday 04 June 17 16:47 BST (UK) »
Hi I am trying to find out what happened to the parents of two little boys
George Jupp born 1883 Croydon and his brother Edward Jupp born 1885
They turn up living with Ann and George Cryer in Batheaston Bath Somerset as boarders in the 1891 census.
Has anyone missed these children from their tree
Who were their parents did they die or fall on hard time so sent them to live in Batheaston Bath.
We're the Cryer folks somehow related. They did not have any children of their own.
Thanks

Start by checking on the birth registrations to get a MMN.

Then look for more births/likely deaths. All info in free-to-use resources.

Hi We only have that census record we cannot find a birth record

Can you explain what the issue is?
As you have seen, you were not being sent on a wild goose chase, and all those resources were free-to-use. The better you understand the processes, the further you will get with your research.

Just looking at Sarah Ann (nee Jenner) - birthplace NK (not known) per 1881.

Her marriage record (29 June 1878 at Croydon parish church) shows her as aged 22, spinster, of Croydon.  Father: Jasper Jenner, carpenter.

1861 census for Sutton, Surrey shows a Jasper Jenner, sawyer, with wife Hannah and children including a Sarah Ann, 4, b Waldron Sussex. RG9/418/146/18.  She was still with the family in 1871, aged 13.

Likely birth reg for Sarah Ann Jenner: Sep qtr 1857 Uckfield, mmn Berry.
