Hi Heatherjulie That is the family indeed , they originated in Caithness Scotland. Regarding the parents Robert McKay s father was Robert McKay 1815.. 1878 and his mother was Margaret  Bremner 1814..
Agnes Mary,s  father was a school teacher in Keiss Archibald Morrison and her mother Jamesina Sutherland . Therefore I am not sure where a middle name of Forbes would come in , but that could be after a friend doctor etc . To answer I am not a direct decendant but this is a branch of my fathers family ... or släkt as we say in Sweden

Robert also had an elder  brother Thomas who moved to Liverpool as well with his wife from Caithness .. His eldest son was called Robert !! Many thanks for your efforts really appreciated!!

Tryggo, can you confirm whether that is the family in Bootle in 1911? If so Robert wasn't married then so can't be Robert Forbes McKay.

Robert already married by then, Archibald not I think?

I posted Archibald's 1887 birth reg earlier in the thread; no middle name.

Hello there,

I've been looking up the Morrison/McKay family too. Charlotte (Lottie) Morrison, daughter of Archibald Morrison and Jamesina Noble Sutherland was born abt. 1876 in Wick, Caithness. As some of you have written already, the family moved to Bootle. Charlotte married Thomas Gorman in 1901, West Derby. She is listed, with Thomas in the 1911 Census as landlady of a pub in Thirlmere Road, Everton.

Assuming that Thomas Gorman died, Charlotte married an Irishman, Thomas A. R. Brophil in 1915, West Derby  who is my family tree. Charlotte and Thomas moved to Dublin, where Charlotte, a widow died in 1953.
