This photo of two women in travelling clothes is is cut from a postcard. It looks like there may be a boat in the background, so perhaps the photo was taken on a dock.

Can you please advise, based on clothing styles, when the photo might have been taken.

Thank you Jim. That will help me narrow down who they might be in my friend's family.

Thank you for the makeover Handypandy. I didn't expect that, but it is lovely to have. I had my magnifying glass out looking at the original. Both women would have had the backs of their hands tattooed & any image of that would also have helped me narrow down who they might be in my friend's family. Alas, no luck in that department.
