Hi,
I am reaserching the Rawnsley family for a friend. Her grandfather was Roderick Rawnsley. He was born in NZ in 1895. Minka believes her grandfather is related to Hardwicke Drummond Rawnsley (the rev) co-founder of the nationtrust. I was wondering if anyone knew what the connection is.

I found the Probate record for the father Richard Edward RAWNSLEY who died in 1941.  You can

A statement from his widow, Ethel Mary RAWNSLEY, on that file, says that her husband Richard E. RAWNSLEY was born India.

Hardwicke Drummond Rawnsley was born Shiplake On Thomas, Oxford, England bith registered Dec 1/4 1851 reg district Henley Oxfordshire
Baptised Shiplake, 26 Oct 1851 father Robert Drummond Burrell Rawnsley occupation Clerk. Mother Catharine Ann Rawnsley

In the UK, Poll Books and Electoral Registers, 1852 there is a Drummond Burrell Raunsley MA
I wonder if he added the Robert later?

The "Times of India" published a notice of the marriage of Roderick's parents in 1889 :

... at St Mark's Church, Wellington, New Zealand, .... Richard Edward RAWNSLEY, eldest son of
