Frances Couling formerly Garner nee ?? ca 1780 - 1838

Hi, am researching Frances [Fanny] Garner widow who married Thomas Cooling on 26 Mar 1815 in Middleton Stoney, witnesses Joseph William & Sarah Clay(g)don. They had 2 children William 1817 & Sabina 1821. She is Fanny on the marriage record & William's baptism, Frances on Sabina's baptism & on death certificate - with surname Couling.

I have her death certificate; died 26 Feb 1838 age 58 labourer's widow; informant Sarah Philpot (who was a neighbour of Thomas in 1841 & I think was nee Broom).

I have looked at Oxfordshire bmds on ancestry & findmypast but can find no deaths of a male Garner before 1815 which could lead to his marriage (ca 1800 - 1810??) & hence Fanny's maiden name.

Can anyone help to find Frances' maiden name & baptism please? Thanks.

Ahhh, that looks promising. Thank you. Will look for more children on familysearch & elsewhere, also for this Thomas in 1841. Also 3 down on the baptism register is a child to Sarah Claydon (marriage witness)

Can't find any other children to William & Frances yet; she would have been about 32 when Thomas was born. Still looking for a William Garner death.

Only marriage I can find is William Gardner wid to Frances Hollis spin in 1792 in Northmoor. Frances' age is only from death certificate - 58 in 1838, so born as far as informant knew ca 1780 - and could be old enough. Children born in Northmoor are Hannah 1797, John 1799 & William 1802.

Northmoor not a huge distance from Middleton Stoney....
