Newspapers
« on: Thursday 08 June 17 12:31 BST (UK) »
Is their a common newspaper which covers both St Monance and and also Pittenweem.I have in my possession a death certificate dated 1989 of both the deceased and also the informant of the death, father and son. The deceased in 1989 was living at George Terrace, St Monance, and the son was at South Loan, Pittenweem.
I was hoping that a newspaper might have a section where I can ask for any relatives, friends of these two men, to get in touch, which I hope will help with my family history.  Many thanks

The days are long gone when the East Neuk of Fife had its own newspapers, but you might find the following useful -

http://www.fifetoday.co.uk/

But probably the Dundee Courier would be your best bet for placing a genealogical query.

As a native of the East Neuk with friends from St. Monans and Pittenweem, I would be interested to know who it is you are looking for. Not to be nosy, but because I may have known them or be able to put you in touch with a relative.

Thank you.  This is from the 1989 death cert of Thomas Robert Sutherland, retired fisherman, whose usual residence was 27 George Terrace, St Monance.  Death was registered by his son T Sutherland, which I assume was Thomas, of 8a South Loan, Pittenweem.

I am wondering what happened to Craig Sutherland? I am sure his great great grandfather is also my great grandfather.

I'm going to send you another message by PM as it concerns people who are probably still alive.
