Another coastguard query

   One more question on John Pay. It appears that he spent 12 years as a coastguard, following his navy service, finishing in 1869. He died the following year and in 1871, his wife is described as "pauper". Would she have been entitled to any pension? I suspect two of her children went to the orphan school in Wandsworth.
