1901 and 1911 census for Samuel Kenyon
« on: Saturday 10 June 17 20:17 BST (UK) »
Firstly, i know you can't talk about 1911 census in detail.

I am trying to find this individual...

Samuel Kenyon
Born 1878 in (Westfield) Warley, Yorkshire, England

In 1911 his wife and children are living in Hull, but his wife is marked as Married, not Widowed, and there is no sign of Samuel.

I also know that Samuel did not pass away until 1944. So i know he's alive in 1901 and 1911.

In 1891 he was on a Vessel at the docks in Hull, would there be any way to track him in 1901/1911 in light of this? In 1901 he would have been single, and 1911 he would have been married (To a Gertrude Whitelam)

His enrollment record for Naval Ships with the National Archives starts at 1918.

Many Thanks Everyone!

There are Merchant Seaman records for a Samuel Kenyon born 6.9.1878 Halifax dated 1940 could this be him.   I think that it was only Royal Navy not Merchant Navy that were recorded on census when they were away from the UK ie at sea
