Hello Sandra

Many thanks for all of the information that you have posted with obituaries.  My original post was about George Parker and Elisabeth Ann Clayton rather than the Gibson family where I do have quite a bit of information, as it is readily available.  Less for the Parker-Clayton family other than George Parker's second marriage to Florence and his further children.

You are right. Both George Parker and Francis Charles Gibson left their wives, remarried and had second families.  I have the marriage record of George Parker and his second wife, Florence Smidt, where he states that the marriage was his first, when it was actually his second.

Thank you for the tips about Ada Marion Parker Hill.  The mistranslation of Elisabeth Ann's name 'Slat....  is obviously meant to be Clayton and perhaps was not clear enough to be read correctly.  George Parker's mother was Ada Mary Jean, and two of the Parker children were called Ada.  'Marion' is a recurring name in the Clayton family after 1890, perhaps after Marion Martha Clayton (sister of Elisabeth Ann and mother of Francis C Gibson).  She also disappears after her marriage in 1882 in London.

I am fairly sure that Ada Marion Parker Hill is the daughter of George and Elisabeth Ann, one of the 2 surviving children that 'Annie' Clayton says she had on the 1900 US census.  The other is George.  Many thanks for your thoughts about George Parker jnr.  He may have died or emigrated as he has not been easy to find after his birth.  He could have been adopted and took his adopted family's surname.

I have so much more Gibson information with the obituary links that you have sent.  Thank you so much!
