Dawn got there before me  ;D

I was just about to say the same thing.

If I look someone up and am inadvertantly logged out,it does in fact give those exact results!

This household is closed.

Dawn/Carol,

Many many thanks. Also, how odd: I knew that my subscription level (monthly) doesn't allow me to open the locked items (which is why I need to go to a library) but what explains the difference between these examples - which I've attached - of what I see:

 - one is the problem" This household is closed" which both my Dyke family show and which you've both got into!

 - one is what I usually see and not a problem at all (in this case it's my uncle, who is deceased but where one of the family members in the household is still alive hence the info on him is reacted).

I don't understand the difference ..... although I really appreciate knowing you've got in, so that I can get access to Florence and Wilson in my local library!

Liz

Have you previously looked at the entry for William Evans but not the rest of the household?

scrap that!

If I log out and then look for William H Evans with Annie in Cardiff, I get exactly the same screen for that result.

Florence's record is most probably 'closed' to you because none of the other entries on that page are related to her.

When the search result shows a person who is in an institution you will only see their name in the transcription (even with a full subscription), but when you look at the image you will see all the other open records on the page. Although it is usually obvious that the person is in an institution from the address, instead of the 'family' symbol you'll see a 'building' symbol in the transcription. Some institutions contain hundreds of inmates or residents, so that would be an awful lot of transcriptions for a single result, even if they only included all the names with the same schedule number.
