Hi Phil

I can see no marriage for James Jarrett of Gloster Street, parish of St George the Martyr, and from his Will would suggest no marriage : his woollen clothes are left to his servant David Philips and the whole of his estate went to Richard and Mary Dashwood's children - Richard, Jarrett, James, Robert, Mary and Elizabeth Dashwood.

James Jarrett Esq. was buried 2 Jul 1728 in the Great Vault in the North Isle,  St Dionis Backchurch, London.

GEORGE Jarrett married Mercy Evans on 4 November 1708 at St James, Clerkenwell.

George and Mercy baptised a daughter Elianor Jarrett 7 Sep 1710 at St Mary Aldermary, London, although George Jarrett had died a few months prior to this.

Mr George Jarrett buried 15 Mar 1710 on the south side of the middle Isle under the pews N2 & N5 at St Dionis Backchurch.

His Will leaves small monetary bequests to the Dashwoods, his sisters Eleanor and Jane, his worldly estate to daughter Elianor and £100 to wife Mercy.

Just looking for some connection to a Stephen Jarrett born 1699 to 1725 that may possibly be connected to James ??

Regards Phil

Hi Phil

There are quite a few records for a Stephen Jarrett about, a lack of baptisms though - although there is a baptism of a Steeven John Garrett on 28 Jul 1692-1693 at St Mary Magdalen, Richmond, Middlesex. Son of a Mr. Richard Garrett

Looking at the other baptisms in the register - the use of the 'Mr' would suggest a family of some status, as others are just 'Joe Blogs son of Joe Blogs' etc.

I can see a marriage on 13 Feb. 1726 at All Hallows London Wall, London of a Stephen Garrett to Mary Swain.

Not seeing a baptism of a 'Jarrett' :-\

Have you any other info or family members that might help find something a bit more concrete for you ?
