William married Catherine Nimmo in Syd in 1882.( no record on marriage cert of parents & just states Ireland as birthplace). He was listed as a Cab proprietor on a child's birth cert, later as Publican of Yorkshire Stingo Hotel. Died 2nd March 1921 Sydney. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Where did you get his approximate birth year of 1855 from?

Are there any parent's names or place of birth in Ireland given on his d/c?

There are a couple of William Walsh convicts into NSW but dates don't tally. Have you checked arrivals into other States as well as NSW?

Do you know much about Catherine?

Death notice for William WALSH in 1921, in his 67th year

and funeral notices

There are quite a few mentions of William in relation to licencing on Trove. Also possible that he ran the Miners Arms Hotel in Haymarket around 1887

If (yet to be proved!) it is the same William WALSH running the Miners Arms, this indicates he was first in New Zealand.

Edited to add: Possibly not, I don't think this birth of a son in August 1882 fits with your family?

He was born around 1855 as trove article gives his death as in his 67 th year. I have no clue as to his arrival or parents names. There are half a dozen death certs for 1921 but unsure which is his as haven't located a death index I only have a date. The one that appears to be him doesn't have parents names ,it just says Sydney instead.
I have full records of Catherine but not her death cert either . Catherine Lang Nimmo b.scotland 1857
Arrived Tasmania 1860 married 1882 dies 1931.
They are both buried at Waverley cemetery Sydney.

Actually, just ignore it! I think William WALSH who ran the Miners Arms was from New Zealand and married Ann Agnes MURPHY there in 1873. The child mentioned in birth notice in Sydney in 1882 is their's and later mention on Trove of Mrs Walsh's (of the Miners ARms) father as Peter MURPHY. So I'm sorry, not your William WALSH.  :-[
