Amelia Whitehead,Ashton-under-lyne
« on: Thursday 15 June 17 13:28 BST (UK) »
Hi. I'm looking for any help with information regarding my 4xgreat-grandmother, Amelia Whitehead. She was born in Ashton-under-lyne in 1824. Her father's name is George Whitehead on her marriage certificate, where she married William Hulme in St. Marys, Oldham, 22nd October 1843. I can find a record of Amelia in the 1861 (6 John Street, Ashton-under-lyne), 1871 (Bollington Street, Ashton-under-lyne) and 1881 (8 John Street Ashton-under-lyne) census records. I'm struggling to find any details about her mother or siblings or any further details about her father George, which would enable me to go back further. Any help would be hugely appreciated. Kind thanks in advance to all who can help  :D. Dawn

St Mary's Oldham marriages on lan-opt only go up to April 1843  but Abram Jackson witnessed nearly every marriage in the previous 2 years in most cases with John Jackson so I would say definitely parish clerks
