Will do! It's great to be able to tie up loose ends in a family tree and E.R. was one of them. My friend visits one of her uncles regularly and he had no idea his dad had an older sister. In 1940, Ormond was called as a witness in a Barnstaple court case involving a local family, and the news report mentions that he was visiting his sister-in-law Mrs Hancock (Alice) in Belle Meadow, at the time of the incident, so it looks as if the contact has been lost in the late 40s or early 50s when the Dawes moved to Surrey.

I haven't found anything definite about Ormond being in the R.F.A. yet, but he was in the Royal Navy circa 1923, it turns out, so it's likely he was acquainted with E.R.'s first husband.
