Williams look up
« on: Thursday 15 June 17 14:06 BST (UK) »
I've ordered the birth certificate for my great grandfather Haydn H Williams born 4/2/1912 married Mary E Down in 1933, but as you all know the time we wait for certificates is crippling so I was just wondering if anyone could help me narrow down my options on Haydn's mum and dad...

mother's maiden name Price

if you look for a Williams to Price marriage in the Merthyr Tydfil registration district between 1901 and 1912, there are 31 instances of a male Williams with a Price on the same page. Unless you have more info, looks like you'll need to wait the few days that the GRO takes if you're in the UK.

You may therefore want to make a note of the marriage of Herbert Williams to Sarah A Price in Merthyr Tydfil in 1910, in case Haydn's middle name was after his father.

the other pair - Herbert Gough & Florence Highfield- on the page of marriage registrations are a couple, there are births for Gough children with Highfield as mother's maiden name. Luckily, Herbert Gough isn't a common name and he's in Gelligaer in 1911

So you could look for your couple in that area. There's more than one Herbert Williams.

and possibly more...
