There is a William Smith, 47, from St Ives,  buried 16th March 1850 at Bedford Lunatic Asylum. This register isn't on line yet.

Now that is interesting. I've just spent the morning arranging a visit to Burntwood Lunatic Asylum for the other side of the family.The lunatics are certainly coming out of the closet today.
