"certificate error"

I have recently been getting "certificate error" when trying to access some  sites I use daily.

 "There is a problem connecting securely to this website - you should close this webpage"

Other sites have not been affected.
Any ideas please???

Assuming they are sites that others can access with no problems...

(this might sound totally random) is the clock on the screen showing the correct time and date?

You don't say which browser you are using - If you are satisfied that the sites are safe you can disable the security check in the browsers settings - different browsers have different means of doing this.

PS Reading up on this problem it appears that some users of Firefox and Kaspersky antivirus systems have this problem when they update to the 64 bit version of Firefox

KGarner - thanks for the link.  The site I cannot access is FB; I also get certificate error on a couple of other regularly used/trusted sites.

Readydale - yes the times and dates showing are correct.

Falkyrn - The sites I get 'error cert.'  are well known, safe sites, e.g. family history societies of which I am a member.

I use Internet Explorer.

When I get a message from friends on  FB I can then access the site via the message in my email inbox!!!

Those sites are not blocked! Just ignore the message

Personally I think your problem is using Internet Exploder?!

I am ignoring the message on several sites, but on some sites the message does not give me the option of ignoring.

No, I haven't tried another browser................................how do I do that please?
