Birth certificate

Hi there!
Can anyone offer advice on finding a birth certificate, I have looked in all the 'normal' places!!!

I have tried on ancestory.com
and, the gov:website I tried only goes up to 1916 & I want 1922

Welcome to rootschat  :). Do tell us what your normal places are!!

You won't find certificates themselves on line (apart from older Scottish ones on ScotlandsPeople). England ones need to be ordered to the Register Office www.gro.gov.uk, cost £9.25.

FreeBMD isn't part of Ancestry, though Ancestry have adopted some of FreeBMD's indexing.  FreeBMD continues to add to its indexes and correct errors found, so it is always worth looking there.

We will be better able to help if you tell us who you are looking for and where the birth is expected to have taken place (assuming the person is now deceased - we can't name living people on here).
