I'm looking for this man. The earliest I could find was info from an 1881 census, but I would love to know more, and go back farther. Who his parents were! Any info would be super, thanks so much.

1881 England and UK Census

Frederick Balkwill (Balkwell)  Age: 28
Residence: 46 Pill Terrace, Briton Ferry, Glamorganshire
Occu: Copperman in Copper Works
Birth: 1852 in Kick (I've also found Torrington, Brickland..)
Wife: Ann Maria Gorvett married in 1876

Think he was born in Buckland Devon, - as per the 1901 census: Class: RG13; Piece: 5061; Folio: 42; Page: 51.

He's down as Fred, wife is Maria, and lots of children.

Think this is him in 1861 in Torrington Devon

Grace Balkwill  wf      40     glover   "  Langtree
Fred Balkwill   son      9     scholar   " Buckland
John Balkwill   son      4                  " Sheepwash
Thomas Balkwill son   2                           "  "

Can't see him in 1871 - his parents and two other siblings Lucy (10) and Bessie (6) are still in Sheepwash - Class: RG10; Piece: 2197; Folio: 12; Page: 15

Baptised as FRED BALKWILL on 27 Feb. 1853 at Buckland Filleigh son of Isaac and Grace, father a labourer.

Birth Registered in the Torrington district 1st Qtr. 1852 as FRED BALKWILL, Vol 5B Page 499

Isaac Balkwill  22  bachelor  labourer of St Clair. Father: Richard Balkwill - farmer
Grace Trott     23  spinster  glove maker of Youldridge. Father: William Trott - labourer

Both signed register with an X
Witnesses: John Banfield and Mary Balkwill

in any search for having Richard as his father, i'm getting birth and christening dates that don't match up at all. I've also found possible parents being a John and Mary, any confirmation would be great. thanks!

Richard Balkwill married Ann Allen 30th Jan. 1813 Buckland Filleigh
Both signed register with X
Witnesses: William Brown and Frances Andrew.

Richard Balkwill baptised Buckland Filleigh 1 July 1793 son of John & Catherine.

John Balkwill married Catherine Ayre at Peters Marland 18 April 1781.

When I search for Richard balkwill and his wife Ann Allen, I keep coming up with parents being a Charles balkwill and a Jane bowman. Can anything else be found for confirmation? I dislike finding out I've been tracking the wrong people. 😉
