ARMY
Second Lieutenant William J. Kelsey. Jr., of 1613 Taney St., serving on the Fifth Army front in Italy, recently was awarded the Silver Star for gallantry in action.

When the platoon leaders and all other platoon sergeants had become casualties in his company's attack on an enemy-held hill. Lieutenant Kelsey, then staff sergeant, assumed command of the men at the top of the hill  and directed them in repelling four vicious German counter attacks, according to his citation.

Obituary for John R O'Donnell Snr - husband of Ella Mae Kelsey/O'Donnell.

John R. O'Donnell Sr. of Levittown died Friday, May 24, 2013, at St. Mary Medical Center. He was 88.

Born and raised in the Olney section of Philadelphia, Mr. O'Donnell was an original Levittown homeowner.

He was an U.S. Army veteran of World War II, where he was awarded three Bronze Stars.

Mr. O'Donnell was a member of St. Michael the Archangel parish, where he worked the poker tables at the annual fair for many years.

He was a charter member of the Lower Bucks Rock and Mineral Club, was an avid golfer, and enjoyed horse racing.

Mr. O'Donnell was the beloved husband of the late Ella Mae O'Donnell who died on the same date seven years ago............etc etc
