Confusion and mysteries with the Morris family
« on: Sunday 18 June 17 13:22 BST (UK) »
This is what I know told by two of the siblings and census.
James Douglas 1876-9
Charlotte 1879
Hannah  named after grandmother
Mary Ann1881
James 1888
Rose 1890  Rose hannah on census
Fred 1892
Edwin 1894 went to Aus
Clara 1896 went to Aus
Diana 1898 I have her info
Nellie Jane 1902 ka Jane went to America
Molly ran away with a black man , never heard from again.
Stanley left the house one day and never heard from again.
Arthur.
Rosemary  had an epileptic fit and died on the fire.
Now the confusion. Were they using middle names ? I can't find any records for the last four.
I presume Hannah is Rosehannah,
Could Molly be Mary Ann even though they are supposed to be two different people ?
The names of the last four continue down the family.
The mysteries of Molly and Stanley I would love to solve and hope someone has them in their family.
The parents were James Douglas and Louisa Morris.
If any kind soul can please help with any information about these siblings I will be so grateful.
Sue

Have you an area where they were born or lived for us to work on?

I'm so sorry I should have said that they lived in Great Holme Street.
Also I do have marriages for Edwin and Clara, thankyou.
One more piece of information about Edwin. He returned to Leicester after being wiped out by a storm in Aus. Set up as a window cleaner and was killed falli g from the ladder, very sad. I don't know when that was though.

Where was Great Holme Street?
You mention in the title The Morris Family but the father is James Douglas, is Douglas the family surname?
