Goodness, I didn't know that about the birth records. What a bother.

Harold indicated he was a soldier on his marriage cert. This is the only CEF record for a Harold Coleby. The entire file has been digitized. It is quite lenghthy and VERY slow to load. It is an interesting read. If I remember correctly, his evenual wife moves to the same London address as given by one of the witnesses at his marriage, Gertrude. So it looks like this is 'your' Harold?

Added: Harold gives a birthplace of Brighton England which might tie in with some records mentioned earlier. Perhaps an exaggeration of his age in order to sign up?

Just to fill in a little George Leonard Coleby married Omah Louise Sturm 31 October 1970 - Las Vegas -

Omah L Baird had previously married Von D Sturm and divorced in June 1967

Omah Coleby remarried 21 October 1978 - Roger Mendenhall (born 23 March 1932 deceased 2 September 2009)

Omah Louise Mendenhall 16 July 1935 passed away 8 November 2005  Huntington Beach, Orange, California.

George L Coleby had divorced from Juliette T LabrecqueMay 1969 Orange.

Appeared on Canada Voters List 1958 - George Leonard Coleby  7104 Dwight Way  San Bernadino.
His wife Juanita Theresa is also mentioned.

I also read through this PB and like you would say this looks like the same Harold gives his birth date as 2 November 1893 Brighton England ..His wife as you said at 713 Elias St London ..there is also a mention of a Mrs N O'Neil Tunbridge Wells Kent next of kin

Harold seems to have had a few medical problems in addition to twice being wounded. References to Bothwell Ontario which is where his wife was born and living in 1901 is just west of London. Probably lied about his age in order to enlist. Problem with Harold that the birth to death info collected is that he can not decided about where and when he was born.

23 - 4 - 1952 Border Crossing Canada to USA - Parents were Theresa Juanita Coleby aged 25 years - born 12 February 1927 Ottawa. Father Oliver Labrecque- Purpose was visit.
