Maud Austin Limavady
« on: Tuesday 20 June 17 15:23 BST (UK) »
Hi, am looking for anyone who might have a Maud Austin in their family who went to Australia from Limavady in the early part of the 1900s to get married (probably between 1920-25).  She grew up in Limavady but nothing known about her history in the town.

There is a Maud Austin born 1880 in the Curragh Camp Kildare her father George was in the 19th Hussars. Mother Mary Ann Manley.

There's not a Maud Austin showing up in Limavady area in 1901 or 1911 census (both online) but Maud could be a nickname, middle name, etc.
If you can give us a bit more information we might be able to find more details of her family and life in Ireland. (I live not far from Limavady)

Hi,
The 1911 census gives two Austin families in the district surrounding the town of Limavady, one in the townland of Ballyavelin South in the electoral district of Fruithill and one in the townland of Crindle in the electoral district if Myroe. Both are about 3 miles from Limavady

Does her marriage certificate not list her parents' names? and perhaps father's occupation? and what information is listed on her death certificate? Death certificate should also give better indication of age if not exact date of birth.

There's a Mary Ann Campbell Austin born 1915-

Possibly parents' marriage although not all details match-

The more information you give us the easier it will be to help you.

A branch of the Austin family lived in the Limavady area for a number of generations.
