Hi Martin,

Here's 2 of your threads re a John McGrath.  What info did you glean from the South Australia marriage certificate?

May I ask how you are connected to Joshua PAYNE or his wife Lavinia Carter BRAY and also Andrew ANESBURY and his wife Margaret Ann BENNETT?

Some questions to help your quest - You have posted on the general England board and not on the respective county boards  :)

:)  :)  :) Where did Joshua PAYNE marry Lavinia Carter BRAY?  What info have you gleaned from their marriage certificate, including any details about their respective parentage?

"Joshua Payne, second son of the late George Payne, Esq, of Elm Grove, Peckham .... Lavinia Carter Bray, third daughter of the late Captain John Bray of Camborne Cornwall"

The Royal Cornwall Gazette, 30 March 1849, has a death notice -
"At St. Blazey, on Tue last, Captain John Bray"

The GRO has the death registration for John Bray, age 54, Reg. District St. Austell, March Qtr 1849, 09  10.

(St. Blazey falls within the St. Austell Reg. District)

I see you have already been told of the baptism of Lavinia Bray,  8 July 1827, daughter of John, miner.

For your information Camborne was the centre of extensive mining activity. Captain John Bray was almost certainly the captain of a mine, so the earlier record could be of relevance.
