Time line for this branch of the Brailey family in Bishops Tawton Parish
The name spelling is often phonetic on earlier family Search records ie. Breyley,Braley,Brely and Brayli etc.
There were many other families of the name in surrounding parishes.
The earliest Bishops Tawton ones:
Phillipe marries a Frayne October 19th 1592 so he was born about 1565
A marriage of Johane Braley on April 21st 1632 to William Beere.
So there was a family there in the 16th and 17th century.
At the end of the 17th a William born about 1662 marries Margaret Uphill June 5th 1687.
They had a son William about 1704 and other children
William 1704 marries a Sarah no marriage date. They have a William in 1751 and he in turn is the father of William 1773-1846.

The names Phillip, William, Thomas continue to be used, as was the norm of that period through the generations. Eleanor a daughter of William 1773-1846 gets her name from his eldest sister born about 1745.
