I'm having trouble with Fredrick McPherson/Macpherson, I found a marriage certificate that connects him with Emma Mills: maiden name Knox. Then I noticed that Fred was also a widow. I found a 1901 census record that has a Frederick and a Lily listed as son and daughter, I already have the Emma and Edward on my family tree. But have never seen the other two names before, also when I looked at the 1911 census it lists 5 children, but it also has 5 others as died. I've tried the gro index and can't find any more siblings listed with the mothers name as Knox. This side of the family is so confusing.

School - Alton Street School, Tower Hamlets
Father - Fred Macpherson
Abode - 23 Fawe Street.

Therefore it would appear that the above Frederick who you have on the 1901 and 1911 is a child of Frederick's but perhaps not Emma's.

That's just what I was about to post  , however I cannot find a death for an Agnes MacPherson which would leave Frederick free to marry Emma Mills  Equally I've not located a birth for Frederick jnr with MMN Pegram.

Looking at the GRO birth and death indexes I can see the following

William McPherson   b March Qtr 1892  POPLAR  Volume 01C  Page 625 with mother's maiden name Knox and there is a death in the same qtr in Poplar

William McPherson b June Qtr  1893  STEPNEY  Vol 01C  Page 442 with mother's maiden name Knox

Robert William McPherson b March Qtr 1898 STEPNEY Vol 01C  Page 447 with mother's maiden name Knox    -There is a baptism  8 Jan 1898 at Limehouse St Luke with parents Frederick and Emma
There is a death of a Robert William Macpherson in the Sept Qtr 1898

Henry Albert McPherson d Sept Qtr 1906 WEST HAM    Vol 04A  Page 48 with mother's maiden name Knox   There is a death of a Henry Albert McPherson age 2 in 1909  in WEST HAM
