William Farey Kislingbury
« on: Friday 23 June 17 16:32 BST (UK) »
I am trying to trace the father of William Farey born Kislingbury, Northants approx 1823. He married at Lambeth in 1848 Martha Jeffery (strangely also from Kislingbury) Any chance someone with access to Ancestry could tell me who his father is? I can get access to library under normal circumstances but am currently housebound. :(   . Strong probability its a Benjamin? Very many thanks. Simon

Thats fantastic!  Very many thanks for your help. Are there any sign of other Fareys? in the Methodist Records?
I think I have found Thomas Jeffery in the 1841 Census along with Martha in Kislingbury but William may have gone South. There was an Elizabeth Farey Widow and a Mary poss daughter.

Also in the Gold Street records are John (1820), Benjamin (1827), sons of Benjamin & Elizabeth (Carter); there's also a Thomas s Joseph & Mary (Dickens) of Kislingbury baptised in 1823 in the same church.

Benjamin & Elizabeth were married 15 Oct 1818 in Ecton, Benjamin was given as of Preston Deanery

Thank you for your help and interest. I did notice the baptisms on mass. (Sarah seems to be the daughter of Joseph and Mary Farey who must be in some way related to Benjamins family).

Not sure about Sarah but all the others were baptised as Methodists. I think that perhaps after the father died in 1830 (If I have the correct Benjamin), the mother had them all baptised a second time in the Anglican Church. What do you think? Have you seen the mass baptism entry? Suppose there is no reference to Benj. being deceased?

Sorry you are right Sarah was the Daug of Joseph/Mary.
FreeREG does not say Benj was deceased on the Baptisms.
Yes I saw the possible 1830 Burial for Benj on F/S.Org.
