Henry Bennett Born c1865 Birmingham.
« on: Saturday 24 June 17 11:56 BST (UK) »
Hello All.

Just wondered if anyone likes a puzzle.

I have Sarah Annie Mansell born 31/1/1871 Aston. Married Henry Bennett 3/9/1899 at St Savior's, Aston. Henry was living at 8, Gate Street edge tool grinder at the time, father John(dec)fitter.

Henry died in 1910 at Wharton Street, Aston. Sarah died in 1957 at the same address. Although I haven't found their burials yet.

Its Henry I'm trying to find  out more about I have Birth Reg. June qtr 1865 Birmingham 6d 156.or Sept qtr 1865 Birmingham 6d 218 or 6d 45.

I would like to find who his mother was.

I have with question marks ??1871 RG10/3111 F.97 P.30.scholar (parents John and Maria)

Maybe there is a baptism with an address?.

??1881 RG11/2999 F.127 P.14.painter

??1891 RG12/2394 F.91 P.4.packer

Does anyone have any other ideas Please because I am not sure of any and I wish I could link them up.

Alan

Hello
It's not the first registration as the mother's maiden name is Jenks and there is a marriage for a George Bennett and Miss Jenks, the Sep 06d 45 is Dufill and again a marriage Henry Bennett and Miss Dufill at Bromsgrove this time-so it may be the third one Sep 1865 06D 218 maiden name Fanen.

There is a christening at St Martins for the couple you mention 30 Mar 1866
Henry s of John and Maria Bennett brass founder The Workhouse.
Brothers William at St Judes born 29.7.1863 bapt 1.5.1865 New Inkleys labourer.,John 17.4.1861 born 25.11.1860 Vale St  brass candlestick maker. If they are the same family then their mother's maiden name is given as Dones and this fits a Henry Bennett registered Mar 1866 6D 242 so it doesn't look like the same couple.

There doesn't seem to be any other Bennett children maiden name Fanen 1861-1871. and I can't see a marriage.
Sorry

ps Henry and Sarah  were buried at Witton Cemetery, perhaps there is a gravestone with a date of birth?

The third birth that Ciderdrinker mentioned - Sep 1865 06D 218 maiden name Fanen - I think may re related to the birth of a Richard Bennett 1867  March 1867  Vol 06D  Page 235 maiden name Fannin

There is a possible marriage in 1864 Birmingham of a George Bennett to a Caherine Fanning that might fit and I think this might the family below in 1871 living in Birmingham
George Bennett    30
Catharine Bennett 31
Henry Bennett    6
Richard Bennett    4
Mary Ann Bennett 1

Hi. first of all let me thank you both for your help.

Now the Dones one looks a chance although the birth being registered March 1866 does not match the age at the 1901 census and the death in 1910.

There must be a marriage somewhere for a Bennett/Dones or maybe Bennett or Dones spelt wrong.

I have all the images for the Witton Cemetery although some are not readable. I am going to look now.

One of Henry and Sarah's daughters Beatrice Annie Bennett I got from somewhere as being born 21/8/1907.

I have found her Death on Family Search in 1985 surname Brierley and it says born 21/9/1907.

I think I must have got the death from the 1939 register which one should I believe.
