Henry McArthur and Gertrude Prior married in Calcutta in 1939

Hi, may I ask for some advice please. I have the following confirmed information from sight of the certificates as they appear on Scotland's People.  Henry McArthur born at Plantation Street, Govan on 12 May 1908 - Father: William McArthur, a Dock Labourer, Mother: Maggie Hunter who were married in Co. Derry in 1907. I looked for a Marriage for Henry and found; Certified Extract for the Returns of Marriages from the undermentioned Military Stations for the year ended 31 December,1941- Henry McArthur (Scotch) aged 23 a Private in the Cameronians, at Barrackpore - Father: John McArthur, Dock Labourer(deceased) to Gertrude Prior(Anglo-Indian) aged 21.  I realise that his age is wrong by 10 years and the father's name is John instead of William but could this be the same Henry McArthur or is it just a coincidence.  I have not, so far found a death. do you have a copy of the marriage certificate or are you working from a transcription from a site?

It's just that the transcription for the marriage on FindMyPast from the British India collection has his name as Henry Scott McArthur and there is a corresponding birth in 1916 on Scotlands People for Henry Scott McArthur in Pollokshields

Sorry dawnsh, been a busy day.  No I have a hard copy of the certificate from Scotland's People. I knew it was a stretch but without the mother's maiden name I had no proof.  I will search on.  Many thanks for your interest and information.  isk
