« on: Saturday 24 June 17 21:33 BST (UK) »
Here's the information;

John Kenyon, Born 1856 in Warley, West Yorkshire.

Married:

Elizabeth Ann Schofield Born 1855 in Warley, West Yorkshire.

"Marriage
22 Jun 1878 • Halifax, Yorkshire, England
Halifax parish church 22 June 1878 John Kenyon bach 22 cart driver of Warley. Father: Samuel Kenyon ~ cordwainer Elizabeth Schofield spin. 23 of Warley. Father: James Schofield ~ plasterer Both signed Witnesses: Joseph Sykes and Mary Ann Sykes (X)"

John Kenyon is on the 1881 census with his 2 year old son, his mother, and stepfather. No sign of Elizabeth Ann.

In 1891 he is with his second wife Ellen.

in 1901 his second wife has passed away.

I can't find John after this census, but can not find any matching death entries on FreeBMD for either of them.

Can anyone help?

That looks good Deirdre as they were living in Holt Street in 1891.

Is it possible we are looking at two different John Kenyons here? The 1891 census shows four children living with John and Ellen - Clement, Walter, James and Edith. The gro index shows mother of all these children to have surname Craven. A John Kenyon married an Ellen Craven in 1874 in Halifax. Father of John is shown as James Kenyon on the marriage certificate ( viewable on Ancestry). John and Ellen were having children from 1875 to 1890 approx. The ' other' John Kenyon married Elizabeth Ann Schofield in 1878 and was the son of Samuel Kenyon, according to his marriage certificate.

Yes sorry, looked for deaths / burials without checking the child. Son was Samuel, born Sep quarter 1878. Can't immediately see any other children.

Two of the children (Edith & Clement) with the other John and Ellen were baptised in King Cross in 1891, so a different couple.

So ive been researching two different families simultaneously. That means i have John Kenyon even less on the census than i thought i did my John Kenyon is the father of Samuel for definite.

There is a death of a John Kenyon in March quarter 1890, Halifax, aged 37 (bit old, but close?).

In 1891 there is a Samuel Kenyon, aged 12, born Warley, Halifax, listed as crew on the Southampton, in Kingston upon Hull. This would appear to be John's son.
