Hi there,

To avoid duplication may I mention that the image was a focus of an earlier thread 

I continue to agree that a Mary HAWKES aged 66 and of the Church of England denomination was sent to Newington Asylum (in Sydney) by the Police Magistrate at Bourke NSW as a result of Dr SIDES determining she was suffering from General Debility.

From the NSW Electoral Roll 1902-3 for DARLING, polling at Bourke
Frederick MOTT, Oxley Street, carpenter
Sarah Jane MOTT, Tudor Street, domestic duties

Frederick MOTT was 75 years of age when he died in August 1903.  His widow, Sarah Jane is mentioned    NSW BDM has the marriage indexed for 1869, registered in Young, and Sarah's nee surname as HAWKS

John HAWKS, (yes, checked, double checked this spelling, NO ‘E’) residence, Grogan.
Frederick MOTT, residence, Grogan.

NO OTHERS with surname HAWKS (or spelling variations) or MOTT on that roll.

Mary was NOT listed with the Frederick MOTT family in 1891 at Bourke as there was just ONE female (and four males).

Baptised in 1911 at Granville NSW, born in 1830, parents surnamed HAWKES 

I seem to recall posting about that baptism several years ago, but perhaps for some other enquiry.
