It was William George WW1 records in 1918 but I couldn't find a way to access it.

So those two are twins then.

When I was looking at family search earlier I did find some Military records for either Richard or William I think the date was 1918.

Alan

Richard would only be 11 in 1918, therefore not old enough to join up in 1918. Equally William would only be 16.

That William George Gee was 34 years old when he enlisted in 1916, discharged in 1918.

Thanks JJ that's solved that one.  :)

I do have a John Sydney signed up for the Royal navy when he was 15 29/6/1866 then had his first engagement 10/8/1869 on his 18th birthday but as you say he was 34.

Keyboard that is good work.

The age of enlistment was quite different for WW1 as opposed to that in the 1860's.

The recruit had to be aged between 18 and 38 (although he could not be sent overseas until he was aged 19). However there were occasions when age was lied about  :)

Thanks JJ I learn something every day.

It does look like that Cunningham marriage is the one because I put the Page and Volume in FreeBMD along with the year and June qtr.

I think it must be Just a typing error. I would like to have a look at the original image for Ethel. It would be on Ancestry but cant access it at this moment.

I will be able to look at the 1939 register on Tuesday at the records Office Find my Past is free access there.I can look for Ethel living with Alfred and it might be updated to Cunningham.

Also I should be able to find Henry Nelson he didn't die till 1970.

If Richard and George were still alive in 1939 I will probably be able to find them.
