Cashel/Emily area near or in Tippperary
« on: Sunday 25 June 17 22:18 BST (UK) »
Can anyone tell me what Cashel or Emily are or mean in the Tippperary area?  I am researching my husbands Sennett/SSynnott/Sinnott roots and i believe some of his distant relatives were baptized in that area.

Thanks Irish Lynn (from Coleraine area)

Cashel and Emily is a  RC Dioceses covering most but not all of Tipperary
You can see it on the map here http://registers.nli.ie/#home_map by clicking Show Dioceses
Cashel is also a Poor Law Union

Cashel is also a town.
and there is Civil Parish called Emly (without the i )
