I assume both, Sarah in 1871 census and the daughter/grandchild Sarah Lydia in 1861 census?

Ive found Sarah in the 1871 census she is a patient in Guys hospital
Hawkey, Moore, Hillam, Kampfraath, Brockbank, Woodward, Rushforth, Budding.

Can you give details of this 1871 age of Sarah etc if possible the census ref beginning with RG10
More importantly Thomas in 1871, that marriage certificate for Thomas is at present your best bet to confirm the name of his father, and the occupation of his father though?

RG10/624 page 23 is what it says. Sarah Bailey,  Age 42 occupation nurse. Patient. Born Rotherhithe. I am not sure about Thomas

OK now found a Sarah Bailey aged 42 Widow b Rotherhithe, but really cannot see the word Nurse on original,
Full census ref RG10/624/101/23

But I repeat, unless you purchase that marriage certificate for Thomas all of this searching has been possibly in vain?

It does say she's a nurse on Anc * original record  :)

OK admit defeat, funny transcription to me, but will defer to the transcriber, but will stick with purchase of marriage certificate for Thomas a must!!

Have you seen the names of the children in 1881/1911 bear no relationship to any in previous returns??

Yes I am aware although there are no names from the mothers side either and am sure Harriet Nicholls tree is  correct. I am aware I need to purchase the marriage cert for Thomas.

(A) who is Harriet Nicholls, and (B) if so correct, why does she not have parentage of Thomas?
