Ebenezer and Isabella Arklie in Philadelphia, PA
« on: Tuesday 27 June 17 15:29 BST (UK) »
Hi there

I'm following a line at the moment for Ebenezer Arklie b. 4 Mar 1874 in Dundee, Scotland (s/o Ebenezer Arklie and Margaret Rea); his wife Isabella Fairweather Kirk b. 15 Nov 1873 also in Dundee, Scotland (d/o Henry Kirk and his second wife Anne White prev. Webster); and their daughter/only child Mabel b. abt. 1903 in Dundee, Scotland. Mabel married Leroy E Dibeler in 1925 in Pennsylvania, PA.

The family emigrated to the USA in 1914; Ebenezer obtained his Naturalization Papers on 5 Jan 1920; they travelled back and forward to the UK/Scotland on a few occasions and, the last I have for them are the 1930 and 1940 US Census living at 7517 Montour Street, Philadelphia, PA.  Mabel and her husband are also at the same address on both returns with no mention of children.

I've been searching for death dates/places for them to complete my records for them but with no luck so far.

Can anyone help?

Regards

Thanks shellyesq and RJ137

Great to get results for the family.

I found a Passport Application, WW1 Draft Registration Card and Naturalization papers.

It's a shame that line "died out" with them.  The ascendants of Isabella's line still frequent St Andrews in Scotland.

Hi *Sandra*

Thanks for the links. Sadly, I don't subscribe to the site  :(

Perhaps if some kind soul does, they could get the articles for me  :-[

There just small snippets - scroll thru the OCR text further down the link and then if you play about with the name and words you might see more. Sure you've been given those before.

Try googling her name.

Thanks *Sandra*

Didn't notice that before! Not a lot, but most certainly it is Mabel.
