Elliott family in Gartan & Fanad
« on: Tuesday 27 June 17 16:20 BST (UK) »
Isabella Elliott of Eastern Glebe or Gartan Glebe [hard to decipher the handwriting] youngest daughter of the late Mr. Stephen Elliott, of Ragory [Rath Gory?], Fanad married John Moore of Carrowtrasna, Gartan on January 6, 1863 at Gartan Church, by the Rev. H. Maturin. This couple lived in Roshin, Gartan as tenants and were not related to the Roshin Moore family who were already established in Roshin. They had children in 1864, 1866, 1867, 1869, 1870, 1871, 1872, 1875, & 1876. I only know of two surviving children: Charles & Mary Moore. John Moore died a widower in 1935. I have a lot of information on the Moores but not much on the Elliotts. For example, I cannot find a record for the death of Isabella [nee Elliott] Moore.

Did you find John on 1901 Census? Is he a widower then??
