Nightingale

Folks,
Thomas Nightingale b 1815 in Yaxley marries Rebecca Stretton on 28 Jul 1834 in Yaxley,no parent detail shown,throughout census his place and date of birth remain consistent but i can find no record of his baptism.Yaxley PR's CD shows nothing between 1803 and 1822 nor marriages prior to 1825 though there are baptisms and deaths from the 1650's.Two other Thomas' appear in Yaxley,one born Somersham and one born Yaxley,son of Joseph and Hannah who is with his parents in 1841.I thought he may have been illegitimate but that lead to nothing.
Any suggestions?

just found this  ref bapt 1811 Thomas so of Samuel/Elizabeth at Ramsey,??

Margaret,
Thomas of Ramsey marries Mary Brighty,one child Brighty Nightingale b 1838,family emmigrates to Wisconsin USA.
Due to lack of online resources i used familysearch.org for birth of Thomas Nightingale 1805-1820,16 census results which all tally with what i had.
Thomas of Somersham at marriage in 1844 and 1850 cites father as Joseph but no baptism found.
Found 38 Ancestry trees which add nothing to the picture.

I have spent a lot of time on this family so now i just want to sort them out.Does Hunts Marriage index have any Nightingale marriages pre 1825 anywhere in the county?

Hi,

Try Free Reg, they have some marriages in Huntingdonshire.

I am starting my Nightingale family Tree which appears to start with Thomas Nightingale born about 1747 (don't know where) and dies about 1818 in Ramsey, Huntingdonshire.

He married a Mary but again don't know her surname.

Also there is a Thomas Nightingale born 31 January 1811 and baptised 03 March 1811 at St Thomas a Becket in Ramsey, Huntingdonshire with parents listed as Samuel & Elizabeth

A marriage can be found on Free Reg for a Samuel Nightingale and Elizabeth White 22 March 1798 at St John the Baptist in Wistow, Huntingdonshire (may also come under cambridgeshire), which i believe is about 3 miles away from Ramsey.

It is the Nightingales from Yaxley i am following and with the gap in records it seems the truth may never be known.
A county wide tree may lead to results.
