Information on Death Register that Needs Explaining
« on: Wednesday 28 June 17 22:20 BST (UK) »
I'm looking at the death register of an ancestor who died in 1962.  On the margin of the page it says, "Reg of Corr. Ents." Vol 12 Page 218 18th Dec 1962"

Any idea what that might refer to?  I Googled the exact phrase just to see what came up but I didn't find much.

If you downloaded it there should be an option to view the Corrected Entry free on SP?

If like me there is no option to view & download the entry, you can email SP with all the details of the cert. & the fact that the separate Corrected Entry is unavailable, they will email you that page.

Register of Corrected Entries.
Amendments to original bmd entries are recorded in a separate register and a cross-reference added in the margin of the original register

That's what it was, thank you!

And there was a link at the top, I missed it.  The correction was a little horrifying, though--the record was corrected to show that there is a two day time gap where they are unable to pin down when she died, which means probably that she died and no one found her for a while???

Poor lady.
