St Bartholemews Anglican Church
« on: Thursday 29 June 17 12:50 BST (UK) »
Hi All
just came across 2 baptisms in above church which has Dublin City written in Gaelic i was just wondering if they are new records also if right church says consecrated 1867
I found 2 baptisms one in 1864 and one in 1867
for Ellen and Robert Thomas children of John Thomas Shoemaker of 6 Gt Ship St and Catherine Anderson (marriage not found prior to 1856)
https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:QL34-ZF6M

https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:QL34-9JVV

Ellen and other siblings were also baptised in St Nicholas
http://www.rootschat.com/links/01kb9/

the only hint i had was on the Baptism of Henricus 1856 the priest has noted that the father is a protestant.

any help greatfully appreciated as alway's

believe they they are birth records not baptisms (source is given as '"Ireland Civil Registration, 1845-1913,") - Robert Thomas, original record is in English, the person transcribing must have translated for some reason. No mention of St. Bartholemews

These are the 'new' records FamilySearch recently put together, they are trying to match the Civil Reg with the Church records they have.

I guess your asking dathai, why one record is for St.Bartholemews Anglican and the other is St.Nicholas RC?
Or have I missed what your looking for?

Just looking at Robert
Christining No 2 High St Dublin
https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:FPTV-1J3
and St Bartholemews
https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:QL34-9JVV
and Birth Reg
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/birth_returns/births_1867/03466/2272817.pdf

Even more confused now
Was St.Bart's ever at No.2 High St. or is that where they were living at the time?

Ellen also High St.

We know from her RC baptism that the family lived on Ship St. so it looks like High St. is where the church was.  :-\

Thanks Rathmore for the link

Sinann  i noticed Ellen's birth on the St Bartholemews is 3 days before St Nicholas

Her brother Henry born 1862 married in America as a Catholic i presume
https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:FZ5W-C8Q

Bridget may have been pregnant as they are home shortly after the marriage

1911
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Dublin/Merchant_s_Quay/Braithwaite_Street/55786/

having great difficulty locating births for the children
I found Essie seems to be registered as Mary Esther
and Catherine as Bridget ?

just wondering is Henry registering or baptising them as protestants
